I wonder if admin can sticky this thread where we can post relevant events instead of them being buried in various threads?

If you register at the prolifecampaign.ie you can attend the prolife conference;
Dear Friend, We cordially invite you to the Pro Life Campaign’s National Conference 2011, which takes place on Saturday, November 5th at 1.30pm (registration from 1pm) in the Alexander Hotel, Dublin 2. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Advancing the Pro-life Message – Projects that are working'. We are delighted to welcome to Ireland g uest speakers Reggie Littlejohn of Women's Rights Without Frontiers and Ryan Bomberger of the Radiance Foundation, both of whom are playing a pivotal role in presenting new and imaginative ways of promoting the pro-life message and exposing the hopelessly inadequate defences offered by abortion advocates. Threats to the right-to-life in Ireland remain very real, both from abortion and destructive research on living human embryos. But there are also signs of hope and a renewed energy within the pro-life movement. In addition to our two international guest speakers, Professor William Binchy, Legal Adviser to the Pro Life Campaign, will give a brief update on the Irish situation and how best we might respond. Booking in advance is essential. If you would like to attend the conference, please reserve a place straightaway as seating capacity is very limited. To register online click here We look forward to seeing you there! Warmest regards Dr. Ruth Cullen Pro Life Campaign

A bit late I know but if anybody is free tomorrow evening (Thursday 29th of September) and in Dublin there is a conference in the Davenport Hotel on anti-Catholicism. An atheist is the speaker and it's organised by the Iona Institute. www.ionainstitute.ie/index.php?id=1627

Again, the Iona Institute is organising a conference on marriage in the Davenport Hotel in Dublin at 8pm, Tuesday October 25th. Archbishop Martin will be giving the talk.
"We are very pleased to be able to announce that our next speaker will be Archbishop Diarmuid Martin who will address the topic, 'Marriage and the Common Good'.
As you know, the future of marriage in Irish society has been one of the most important themes of The Iona Institute since it was launched in January 2007. Marriage is increasingly being seen as 'just another lifestyle choice', and while the large majority of Irish people still get married, the last two decades have seen a very big increase in such trends as cohabitation, births out-of-wedlock, and marital breakdown.
If you would like to attend the talk please let us know by emailing info@ionainstitute.ie or by phoning 01 6619 204. This gives us an idea as to the number of seats to put out and how many to cater for re tea and coffee afterwards.
As we expect a large attendance at this talk, it will be more important than usual to let us know in advance if you intend coming."

No he managed it Bríd, it means that it's pinned to the top of the board. I think that's what that little red pin is beside it anyway. Nice avatar, and welcome!

The CSP are having a demonstration against the closure of the Irish Embassy to the Vatican outside the Dail on Thursday 8 December 2-4 pm. Doesn't strike me as the best time - it's a working day.

Yes, they chose it because it is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception - but an afternoon demonstration on a working day is not going to get a good turn-out, Holyday or not

Missionaries from around the world will come to Dublin this weekend (1st of Advent) to participate in the Dublin City Mission which takes place in the Pro Cathedral. The Mission is being run by the Dublin Eucharistic Congress Committee as part of ongoing preparations for the Congress next year. Twenty six young missionaries from the Emmanuel School of Mission based in Rome will take to the streets of Dublin over the next few days to reach out and share their faith with the public. They come from Australia, Russia, Egypt and South America among others. There are a number of events taking place in the Pro during the mission, including two youth masses, the next one is Sunday 4th December. A special Marian Evening of prayer, music and a candlelit procession takes place on December 7th, beginning with the Vigil Mass at 6pm to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

Ok I know this is not an event per se but I want it here so it's stickied. I think it's a great idea from a worthy publisher and could help rekindle or even begin a student's journey into the faith. Think of it is a cheap Christmas present for an unknown soul you may one day get a thank you from in heaven. And it's only a fiver! www.cts-online.org.uk/acatalog/CTS_Appeal_2011.html

I am not sure if I can get to the Weigel lecture at the Davenport come Tuesday as I have a run of night shifts coming up and may be too tired. If anyone does go I'd love to read about how it went.
