On Friday October 5th my own parish church in Fairview will be hosting the World Apostolate of Fatima's Eucharistic Vigil with devotions. It's in the church of The Visitation on Fairview Strand just beside Philipsburgh Avenue. Mass starts at 7.30pm, Brown Scapular Enrolment, Holy Hour Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Confession, Torch Light Procession with the Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady and concluding with Benediction at 9.45pm.
There will be buses provided to attend the vigil. If anyone is interested email me and I'll pm the phone number.

Update. 7/10/12
I attended the Fatima Apostolate Mass and it was beautiful. The church was black but then again it usually is, the parish is a very busy one. Nevertheless, the age profile was much older than usual there. There were buses outside to collect people afterwards. I didn't realise this was a monthly event, they couldn't get a church for the beginning of next month what with All Saints/All Souls so the next one will be on November 30th in St. Kevin's in Kilnamanagh.
The priest discussed the importance of the Rosary and the salvation of souls, the dangers of hell and diligence in praying for souls in Purgatory too. We prayed litanies while four priests heard confessions, there was a queue all the while for all the priests. Obviously we prayed the Rosary, we went by candlelight in a procession with a statue of Our Lady out in the grounds and sang hymns, O Salutaris Hostia and Ave Verum and some others. They blessed Scapulars and then any other religious items we had with us. I was sorry I hadn't brought a couple of icons I own along with me.
I would encourage anybody with a devotion to Our Lady of Fatima to attend if they can. There was one man there who had the most beautiful voice that I had to stop croaking along just to hear him. He sounded like John McCormack and that's not an exaggeration. I may go again just to hear that man sing! Anyway, well worth attending if you can.

Davenport Hotel, 8pm on Thursday, November 8th organised by the Iona Institute.
We are pleased to invite to our next talk which will be given by Gary Krupp. Mr Krupp, who is Jewish, is one of the world's most prominent defenders of Pope Pius XII. Pope Pius, as you are no doubt aware, stands accused of the terrible moral failing of not doing enough to save the Jewish community of Europe from the Holocaust. Even worse, he has been accused of being ‘Hitler’s Pope’. This is an unusual topic for The Iona Institute, but we learnt a few days ago that Mr Krupp will be in Ireland next month on a flying visit and so we thought it was too good an opportunity to miss. Mr Krupp is founder of the Pave the Way Foundation, a New York-based organisation that fosters closer relations between Judaism and Catholicism. Over the last six years, the organisation has uncovered 76,000 pages of original material, plus multiple eyewitness accounts and testimonies from prominent international scholars which show how deeply unjust it is to call Pius XII ‘Hitler’s Pope’. In 2000, Mr Krupp was made a Knight Commander of the Pontifical Equestrian Order of St. Gregory the Great for his charitable work. If you would like to attend the talk please let us know by emailing info@ionainstitute.ie or by phoning 01 6619 204. Tea and coffee will be served as usual afterwards.
END.
Free tea people, free tea!!! ;D

A replica of the icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa will be in Ireland this month, the schedule is detailed below. www.fromoceantoocean.org/irelandIt's part pilgrimage for the prolife movement and also part outreach to our Russian Orthodox brethren. Anyway, the icon will be in Belfast, Derry, Dublin, Cork, Galway and Mayo. They'll visit the Russian Orthodox Church while in Dublin which I think is inspired. The icon will arrive the 16th and leave the 24th. Personally, it's my favourite image of the Blessed Mother.

Unite for Life Vigil Tue 4th Dec 4.30pm at the Dáil Please make every effort to attend. This cannot be stressed enough. It will most likely be the only opportunity we ...get to send a united message to the Government not to introduce abortion. The vigil will have a positive, clear message about safeguarding the lives of mothers and babies in pregnancy. Posters will be provided on the day. Please, please spread the word to family, friends and anyone you know. For more details and bus information contact: Claire 0872668702 or Katie 0877020255. See you @ 4.30pm sharp on Tues 4th

We need to pray very hard now and as we are coming close to the Feast of the Immaculate Conception 8th December, you could begin a Novena of Prayer and Penance which would start tomorrow Nov 30th. Alternatively you can do a Novena of Prayer and Penance from 4th December to 12th December which is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We need much prayer at this time as it is primarily a spiritual battle and we need to pray for all those groups who are working so hard to protect life in our country.

I was astonished at the mix and youth and dignity of everyone there, no rabble or trouble or vicious anger, just concern and passion . That man with the crucifix... really, God love him but it'll be the go to photo for the newspapers. I wish I had been there to hear the testimony of some of the mothers who had difficult pregnancies. Alas only heard 10 minutes and then it was over. Awful time chosen, wish it had been a Saturday or something.

I wonder why on earth a Tuesday evening before the budget was chosen ?
Would a Saturday or Sunday would have been far more effective and newsworthy ?
As for the man with the giant cross and shiny KKK outfit, was he actually a plant by the pro aborts ? I don't think you could imagine a more damaging and counterproductive image for the Pro Life cause
Surely in the intrests of saving as many young lives as possible, this protest should have been focused on Pro Life, not Pro Religion ?
Yeat again, another shambles of an effort.

Yet again, another shambles of an effort.
The Pro Life side really need to up their PR game to have a hope.
Lets Pray they do.
