Warm greetings to you all.
I am very grateful for this forum and salute its important work.
I have made 5 posts here and in the last just remarked that I would be introducing myself:
"Partly because the question has arisen of whether my non-Irish status makes me even eligible - for this forum, which forum I am passionately interested in ..."
I joined this forum assuming I could post in every subforum. Though in my first post I believe I said that I was no more than 1/8th Irish with a great grandfather from Cork.
Though I lived in Ireland from 2004-2006 and will be returning there permanently soon.
Now no-one ever said I couldn't keep posting.
But an event has made me wonder - more on this below - if I have misread the rules.
The rules say:
"This board is, as it says, for Irish Catholics. If you are neither Irish nor Catholic, you may post on the Open Forum. "
Well I am Catholic, but not really Irish. And if the line had said "not Irish or Catholic" I would have restricted myself to the subforum or Open forum.
But the wording on the Open Forum - " not only for Catholics" - certainly suggests that while one needs to be Catholic to be posting on the other forums, one does not need to be Irish ...
Anyway all this came to my attention because I was so enthused about this board that I did want to tell other people.
Thus I tried to plug the board and a possible ambiguity of the rules came up.
Long story - but if anyone one wants to know, here is a link:
catholicforum.fisheaters.com/index.php/topic,3425096.15.html
And the confusion began ...
To cut a long story short, I would like to know if a non-Irish, but soon to be Irish Resident Catholic, passionately interested in this forum and in helping the Tradition in Ireland is welcome to post in the other subforums.
I might say more of myself soon and why I am passionate.
But for now, this post seems long enough.
For now I will just say that if anyone wants to know more of me, they can visit my traditional website - link in my signature below.
OR if they want to know more specifically my interest in Catholic Ireland, here is a link to a page that collects my assorted musings - so far - on Catholic Ireland:
corjesusacratissimum.org/tag/catholic-ireland/
The last piece on that page is ostensibly a film review, but if anyone cares to look, they may find it is perhaps the clearest indication of where I stand in regard to Catholic Ireland ...
I am hoping to begin using this website to support as fully as I can traditional Irish Catholicism ...
I would put a link up to this important forum - but fear I would create more confusion ...
