Soon the happy Irish chapter will walk from Paris to Chartres.
On the other side, however, the SPPX way, the Society is not allowed to celebrate their last mass at the foot of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre.
The Mayor of Paris, an open gay and leftist person, had followed the wish of the "green" party not to allow the mass to be said in this place, thing done during the last 20 years without any troubles. The reason given of not allowing such an event was officially bishop Williamson's opinion on the Shoah, for which they thought it could create a problem of violence and reaction of some people during the last meeting.
The pilgrimage was in jeopardy because they did not have a place to end it. Until the Police Board of Paris allocated recently the "place Vauban" near the Invalides, a fine place in the quiet and extremely rich area of Paris. The main theme of the SPPX' pilgrimage this year is based on Saint Paul. I attended those pilgrimages several times. They are nice, friendly, totally dedicated, and provide an atmosphere unique and spiritual. 3 days of penance but 3 holy days, of joys and dedication to the Lord.

Guillaume, somehow I think the Chartres-Paris will survive and thrive. And you know I am not saying that as an SSPX supporter

Guillaume, somehow I think the Chartres-Paris will survive and thrive. And you know I am not saying that as an SSPX supporter It does. The Police Board of Paris (different for the Mayor of Paris) had attributed the Place Vauban, near the Invalides, the rich quarter and quiet area of the capital. They seem to be satisfied with it.... So the pilgrimage is going from Chartres to Paris-Vauban.... ;D
