It might be good if the "live chat" could be enable. Or is anybody know a good catholic chat room ?

It will be some time before I post again, so I have a question we need to discuss. How do we coexist with the atheists? On the one hand, I think exchanges with atheists are a good way to bear witness and keep us mentally alert. On the other, this board was set up for discussion among Catholics on the basis of shared belief - to allow us to develop ways of thinking with Catholicism, not merely about Catholicism. The presence of the atheists sooner or later turns every thread into a wrangle about first principles in which their application is neglected, like Myles nc gCopaleen's Gaelgeoiri who could not talk about any subject except the language. Separating out the threads worked for awhile, but because we Catholics were primarily interested in the Catholic threads the atheist ones languished and the atheists reacted by moving onto ours again. I think we need to work out a new modus vivendi. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all of us; may the newborn Christ bring new light to us all.

Guillaume, I have tried to activate the Live Chat function but haven't been able to make it work so far.
Hibernicus, this has been a problem since the board started and I perhaps unwisely invited non-believers to contribute. We have one or two atheist members who make high-quality posts in a most courteous and civilised way but their presence tends to get some of our Catholic members a bit over-excited and leads to exchanges that swamp everything else. I'm going to start a poll about this in a new thread.
In the meantime, the blessings of Christmas to you both and to all our members.

Thanks for the response - we can deal with this after Christmas. Blessings to you and all on the board.
