Hello all, I would like to make the announcement that from this point onwards I am no more administrator or moderater of the Irish Catholics Forum. If anyone wishes to take over the job of administrator/moderater of this forum then can they PM either myself or Michael G. In Nomine Christi, CPM

My advice is to close the board. The moderators to date have been unable to do their job fairly, without bias or... in some cases... at all.
Moderating takes time and delicacy. Simply banning or segregating members left right and centre is a quick fix that we have seen here simply does not work.
Clearly it is the fault of bad moderation. Take a look at the "Christian Teens Forum" which has 1000s of members and a dedicated debate section. They have no trouble because their moderators are numerous, active, fair, thoughtful and accepting of all views. They have a forum to be proud of.
They deal quickly, fairly and efficiently with Liars, frauds and trolls like the character(s) Royal and Saintstephen here.
The moderators here have looked for quick solutions and they have not even come close to a board of the quality of the Christian Teens Forum.
Given the traffic on this board has been solely from atheists and fundamentalist catholics who think lying in the name of god is ok once its to further gods cause.... I see no reason to keep the board open at all. No one has posted anything since the atheists have been segregated and the slandering liar was banned.
It should be deleted and forgotten. The posts here from Saint Stephen and Royal would be an embarrasment to any catholic who comes here to read them. I am embarrased for them to think they take their faith here in the hopes of meeting like minded people only to find the depths that other people of faith can go to in the name of their cause.
I am sure the intent of opening the board was a good one. Hearts were in the right place. It is clearly a failure however. Unless you have a lot of time to spend on the effort required then it will fall apart.
Chalk it down to experience, hope you never meet the likes of Royal and SS again, and close the board.

On the contrary, this forum should be saved if possible. As a beginner I found it so easy to see everything at a glance. Its format is superb. I have tried other forums and for me it is like breaking into the code-room of a bank. I would not take any advice from people like Inedifix and hazelireland, two without an ounce of Catholic charity between them. Just read this diatribe above and Inedifix's on the uuum thread and one can see clearly how they conduct their debating on this Catholic forum. Their use of the old ad hominum ploy is obvious. Rather than engage in debate they attack the integrity of the writers and what they say. All debate should be conducted on a Catholic forum as though Christ was sitting around the table. Does anybody seriously think that the above would meet His approval? That is the test. So, please God some capable person or persons will rescue this site. I have read many worthy contributions from others on this forum and it is now time for them to show a little support for the forum and its administrators. we are all human, no one is perfect (except H and I of course) and do not allow atheists and their supporters be the ones who decide the future or not of Irish Catholics' forum.

Hello CPM,
I am sorry to hear you will cease to be our moderator.
Thank you for all you have done.
I would like to see the Irish Catholics' Forum continue.
I consider that a round table for Catholics to discuss and support each other is very important.
I wish all of you the best and hope we can continue with charity, respect and loyalty to the Church.

Just read this diatribe above and Inedifix's on the uuum thread and one can see clearly how they conduct their debating on this Catholic forum. That wasn't debate Redmond. That was a hardball heads up to let you know you can't simply claim to have won a debate because the other guy's not in the room. You lost. You failed to make your case, and you failed to swing any of the polls... on a Catholic web forum. Their use of the old ad hominum ploy is obvious. I have never used an ad hominem ploy. Stop resorting to Stephen's approach of making stuff up. Their use of the old ad hominum ploy is obvious. Rather than engage in debate they attack the integrity of the writers and what they say. I never once directed my posts at you, only ever at their content. You are very, very sorely mistaken. You, on the other hand, repeatedly told me I was mentally dead. That's an ad hom, personal attack. All debate should be conducted on a Catholic forum as though Christ was sitting around the table. Does anybody seriously think that the above would meet His approval? And your behaviour would? The mentally dead thing? So, please God some capable person or persons will rescue this site. Why don't you take it on? we are all human, no one is perfect (except H and I of course) Are you saying we are perfect, or not human? What would Jesus think of that comment were he sitting at your table? I

Excuse me, Hazel. You said this board is populated ONLY by atheists and Catholic fundamentalists who think lying is OK if it's done in furtherance of God's cause. I am neither one nor the other; I say what I think is true (which has included criticising Redmond's pernicious twaddle and defending the right of atheists to post here subject to the normal rules of debate). You may think I am mistaken but don't call me a liar unless you have evidence to suggest I say things which I know to be false. Please apologise to those of us Catholic users of this board who are simply trying to spread news and discuss our beliefs!

Hibernicus,
No I did not say the board is populated only by such people. I said that the traffic on the board has been from those people. There is a lot of members here who do not post or have recently not been posting. It is an important distinction and I respectfully ask you to acknowledge it before you put yourself in danger of misrepresenting my position as you have started to do here.
As you said you have been unable to post much in the last couple of weeks. The recent traffic on this site has come predominantly from the atheist side and the dishonest ramblings of people like Saint Stephen.
So the only apology I feel is warranted is for the use of the word “solely” instead of the word “predominantly”. I hereby make that correction. However your demand of a personal apology is denied, unneeded and unwarranted now given this clarification.
