On this day when we relive the coming of the Holy Spirit, perhaps someone could enlighten me over some confusing matters which have arisen for me over the past while. In my youth we were instructed that there were three divine persons distinct from each other sharing equally in the Trinity and each being God yet not being three Gods. A difficult thing to grasp by the human mind but a fact nevertheless. Recently and also some time ago, I have heard it said that the Holy Spirit was the Spirit of Jesus. Even heard it read out recently as part of the liturgy last Saturday week. Surely this is some mistake. Christ said that he would send the Paraclete, not that he would return in spirit himself. Can anyone help me out here please.
