Be the hokey pokey I almost forgot...it was announced at the Mass in Limerick on Sunday that Msgr Michael Schmitz will visit Ireland on June 26th and say public Mass at St Patricks Church,Dublin Rd on the Sunday (29th) at 11.15 am -[glow=red,2,300]all welcome[/glow]

I might add this is a visit from one Monsignor I will relish...apparently one Msgr O'Brien in Rome has been visiting this site quite alot of late but that has gone unnotyiced-lets hope the same wont be said about Msgr Scmitz when he visits us...over and out

On Friday 27th June, Msgr. Michael Schmitz, Vicar General and Provincial Superior of the United States of America for the Instititue of Christ the King will give a lecture entitled: ' To the service and mystery of the Liturgy: The Institute of Christ the King Soverign Priest'. This lecture will take place at 7.30 pm in Perry's Hotel, Glentworth Street (Beside Dominican Priory) Limerick. From the Archdiocese of Cologne, Msg. Schmit entered the German College in Rome in 1976, and pursued his seminary and graduate studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University. Msgr.Schmitz was ordained on October 10th, 1982, by the then Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger.In 1988 he received a Doctorate in Dogmatic Theology . Subsequently, in 1992, he received a Licentiate in Canon Law from Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich.Pope John Paul II elevated him to the rank of Chaplain of His Holiness in 1998. Monsignor Schmitz is a member of the Academy of Theology in Rome since 1988 and a chaplain of the Sovereign Order of Malta.
