The Catechism at CCC 282 states that Catechesis on creation is of major importance - so lets just see how many lay catholics or even Catechists or priests and others have been taught or told or know and have taught and told others - answer yes or no and your version or take - winc

If you mean young-earth creationism, no the Church doesn't teach that, though I think that one is allowed hold that view. What it does say is that God created the world and that Adam and Eve did exist.

so lets continue since it seems that most Catholics do not seem to know or have been told about the catechesis of creation which is of major importance as at CCC 282 - in the same Catechism at CCC 327 we are informed that the Catholic Doctrine of Creation = simul et ex nihilo = in the beginning,in an instant, out of nothing,in each of 6 x 24hr days,God created everything very good = complete = no millions of years of evolution[including Theistic evolution]necessary or possible = acceptance of this is binding on Catholics and to accept or teach Origins evolution is forbidden and anathema to and for Catholics via fourth Lateran Council,Council of Cologne,Vatican I etc - see via Google search www.cfnews.org/sung-pio.htm - winc

of course you are wrong and only quoting your own false and misleading individual conjectures, interpretations and conclusions - in this wise the Church has advised that we consult the Catholic experts and specialists in both and all the disciplines of theology and science - for Catholics these can be found together and united at www.kolbecenter.org - btw correct Catholic teaching is correct Catholic teaching where ever it is found - winc

Says he who quotes Robert Sugenis, who denies the Holocaust and that science has any role at all in explaining the creation of the universe by God. of course if you are stating and accepting, pseudo science, as real science, and non science and nonsense like The Big Bang etc definately has no role in explaining the creation of the Universe - Sungenis imho is a genius and is a member of the board with the united Catholic experts and specialists at www.kolbecenter.org - contact him and he will defend and reply - btw he is a Catholic and has had audience with our present Pope along with others from the kolbe center - true Catholic teaching is true Catholic teaching wherever it is being taught imho - winc

Some very strange people have attended General Audiences; that doesn't make the Pope responsible for their antics and false teachings.

Perhaps innocently I affirm tht God made the world and everything else and also that in my view the "mechanics" of such creation are a matter of indifference.
At the risk of flippancy I don't need to know the ins and outs of the creation of a great movie to know it is a great movie and be entertained, inspired, in short touched, by it. I do not know the mechanics of cinematography or sound engineering and don't want to.
