Have just heard the wonderful news that Olivia O'Leary is leaving the Church. Like most of you I assumed she had left years ago. I understand she announced it in typically pompous/pseudo-solemn tones on RTE radio. A bit like Big Sister addressing the nation. I always found her ( like the rest of RTE ) an egotistical, pompous wind-bag anyway. Surely a case of - good riddance to bad rubbish !.

Maybe herself & Aoife Kavanagh could set up some kind of weird feminist sect/coven ?.

Maybe herself & Aoife Kavanagh could set up some kind of weird feminist sect/coven ?. And there are a lot more who could join it.

It's always sad when anyone apostasises - the Church is for sinners.

I agree. But you have to laugh at their pathetic pomposity - that'll show the Pope & the Vatican. Just like Inda's ridiculous rant. They only highlight there idiotic/inflated/self-importance. Adolescent fools.

They may not have much impact on the Vatican, but they can influence unwary people who have been acclimatised over the years to following the Montrose Magisterium.

Quite so. In this context do you find it exasperating/annoying to hear Bishop's Martin & O'Reilly go on RTE ( shortly after the Fr. Reynold's story ) & proclaim that the station has no bias against Catholicism ( have they never listened to RTE News/Current affairs, or seen Would You Believe ? ) ; & these guy's are supposed to be leading us, fighting the good fight. Very depressing.

Very depressing. I suspect their attitude is that they don't want to get into a fight they are certain to lose, but they didn't have to say how much they love Big Brother.
