I was just wondering if anyone is involved in the Pioneer Association? I know that they are at risk of shutting down due to lack of funds. They're hoping for a 10 euro donation from each member. I'm not a member but will donate a tenner in the morning, it's a worthy cause. As an aside, I don't drink alcohol. It's not from any moral fortitude, I just never got the taste for it. If I were to join them, it wouldn't really be a sacrifice on my part. Would it still be in line with what they're about since it'd not be a struggle for me at all? This is the link by the by; www.pioneerassociation.ie/images/stories/News/pioneerappeal2011.pdfwww.pioneerassociation.ie for the website.

I'm not a Pioneer but it is a worthy cause. I must say the Politics.ie thread on this was notable for its concerned malevolence towards the PTAA. It's supposed to be a spiritual/prayer association, not just a society for giving things up, so I don't see any reason why you shouldn't join even though you have no taste for alcohol and so make no sacrifice in giving it up.
