Religious processions have by and large dissappeared from view in secular Ireland but yesterday evening in Waterford city a procession was held honouring the day we celebrate as the birth date of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A new statue was blessed at the bandstand in Ballybricken and a procession took place from there to the Cathedral where Bishop Lee said benediction.
