Has anyone heard of the Augustinians pulling out of parishes?
I go to an Augustinian parish in Dublin, last week they had a big meeting, parishioners were invited (unfortunately I couldn't make it) and people came from parishes in Drogheda and Dublin city and suburbs.
Apparently there has been talk of this for a number of years but looks like it could be serious now. If they pull out I cannot see them being replaced (replaced with what?) and there is talk of laity taking over certain roles but nothing specific yet. This could kill the parish and possibly closure of the churches if the laity cannot fill the roles.
Anyone else heard anything about this?

I haven't heard, but I am not surprised. The Augustinians in Ireland have had maybe half a dozen ordinations since about 1990, and not much more in the decade before that. One of these was a late vocation and he has since gone to his eternal reward. As far as I know, they have no one in formation at present. Rather than being exceptional, this is typical of clerical orders. Orders of brothers and nuns are doing much worse. The future is bleak, but some of us believe in miracles. However, a lot of religious need to take a look at themselves in the mirror.

It's not just the Augustinians - for example, what used to be the Franciscan church in Drogheda is now an art gallery.
