There seems to be a proliferation of Masses on the Assumption - there is also something in Belfast, Derry and Raphoe.

Some of the atheists on Politics.ie have been paying Archbishop Martin a nice compliment - they are expressing hope that he will resign, as they think it would make reform/revival of the Church in Ireland less likely. I have heard a rumour - and it is just a rumour - that he is thinking of reopening Clonliffe as an alternative to Maynooth. This seems slightly odd, given the small number of Dublin candidates for the diocesan priesthood. I can think of two possible rationales for such a move; that he is thinking of a recruitment drive, or that he dislikes residential seminaries as "clericalist" and wants candidates for the priesthood to study under the same circumstances as lay theological students. Has anyone else heard anything about this, or is it just a rumour?
It surprises me that there is so little activity on this thread given that Dublin is the centre of indult TLM activity. Is everyone attending St. Kevin's so ecstatically happy that they have no comments to make?

For those of you who have not heard the good news Archbishop Raymond Burke will be coming to Dublin on Wednesday 14th July for a Pontifical Mass in St Kevin's. It will be at 7.00. After Mass he will confer the sacrament of Confirmation in the traditional rite. Fr Deighan asked from the pulpit today for those who wish themselves or children to be confirmed to contact him asap. Contact details are on the Chaplaincy website: latinmass.dublindiocese.ie/drupal/contact.htmlIn Nomine Christe

Well, it takes place on a sporadic basis and the celebrant is invariably Fr James Larkin, formerly parish priest of St Kevin's, Harrington St

I have been rating church re-orderings in another thread and I have to say that most TLM venues score 'good', the one exception being St Paul's, Arran Quay.

Yes its true. It was announced at masses around 2-3 weekends ago. Apparantly he's stepping down due to health reasons. But he's still allowed to live in his flat in the presbytery.
Apparantly Fr. Loschi went to Bishop Fellay in person after he resigned from his post in Athlone and complained about Angles, so I suspect it may be more than health reasons for Fr. Angles stepping down. After 7 years as Superior of Ireland (I may be wrong on that) and 7 priests leaving (most of their own accord).
If anyone wants more information please pm me,

Father Angles has little to do with the MP in the Archdiocese of Dublin and should be in an SSPX thread. But it is big news and what I heard on the grapevine corresponds with what cpm has posted.
