May I say that this is outrageously short notice? Only yesterday I arranged to attend a major St Vincent De Paul celebration of the bicentenary of the birth of Bl. Fredrick Ozanam, which is on on the 20th in Dublin (which has been advertised for months) and which I wouldn't have done if I had known the LMSI AGM was on in another part of the country on the same day. If LMSI members are to be asked to travel to Waterford they should be given a lot more notice than a fortnight.

The notice is not as long as it ought to be. However, given the level of active volunteers behind the LMSI and how drawn out across the country as they are, this is hard to avoid. Even when the organisation seemed to have a full compliment of staff, organisation of AGMs was haphazard. This is one is organised at short notice, but there has to be a re-start somewhere.

From LMSI president:
Amici & Amicae,
The Annual General Meeting of the Latin Mass Society of Ireland will take at the Granville Hotel in Waterford at 3 pm on Saturday 20 April following Mass in the Extraordinary Form in the Catherdral of the Holy Trinity Within at 1 pm celebrated by Rev Gabriel Burke. Please see attached poster designed by Krzysiek Wisniewski (whose wife Iwa did the initial groundwork towards getting an EF Latin Mass in Waterford) for the occasion.
The agenda of the meeting is as follows:
1. Opening prayer 2. Minutes 3. Matters arising 4. Financial Report 5. Reports of the Serving Officers 6. Election of officers: President Secretary Treasurer Vice-Presidents: Munster Connaught Ulster Leinster and Public Relation Officer (this is an extra-constitutional position at present; but in the judgement of the current board, one that it is necessary to the LMSI) Any unfilled position may be filled by the elected officers through co-option. Should anyone wish to volunteer to serve as diocesan officers of the LMSI, their appointments will be confirmed at this time. 7. Resolutions: a. That the incoming board revise the LMSI Constitution for presentation to the 2014 AGM; b. That future AGMs will take place at a single central location rather than on a regional basis, without any dilution to the LMSI's commitment to organise meetings in regional venues for the purposes of promoting the extraordinary form of Mass. c. That the mandate of LMSI officers should be limited to one year, though these may be renewed on an indefinite basis. 8. Any other business 9. Closing Prayer
Should anyone be interested in serving on the LMSI board or in any other capacity, they should forward their names to the acting Secretary, John Heneghan at john_heneghan@hotmail.com in the next seven days. There is more than enough work at hand to occupy more that eight board officers.
In Domino & Domina,
Peadar Laighléis, President.

The venue for the Mass was changed at short notice from Holy Trinity Cathedral to the nearby Saint Patrick's Church which led to some confusion and delay in getting the congregation to the correct venue on time but I am delighted that it went ahead.
