Best not to speculate idly - this is a job best left to locals.

After 17 weeks in hospital, Fr John Brady has made a remarkable recovery and resumed saying Sunday Mass in public today. Deo gratias.

After a further brief period of recuperation in a nursing home, Fr Brady will resume saying Sunday Mass in public on 25 October. Daily Mass is said privately at irregular times so anyone wishing to attend should phone Fr Brady in advance to confirm that day's arrangements.

Fr John Brady announced yesterday (7 March) that he is leaving Wexford. Fr Brady, who will be 91 tomorrow, is moving to a retirement home in Dublin. His congregation will miss him very much.

What will happen now in Wexford ? I had attended Father's Brady celebrations couple of times... Yes he is a def trad priest. No doubt. Slight to elderly now... But what will happen to the congregation ? According to what i heard some were ready to attend Dun Laoghaire (SSPX) Mass. Others, are willing to attend Kilkenny's MP.

Some will go to Kilkenny for the time being; others to St Kevin's in Harrington Street. But efforts are continuing to have Mass in the EF provided publicly in the diocese of Ferns under Summorum Pontificum.

I don't think the main issue for the diocese of Ferns being the application of the MP to be honest. Bishop Brennan is far more worried about the finances of the Diocese... and the way to pay the bills. Kilkenny seems to be the closest to Wexford and the time is suitable (late at 5pm).

Father Brady has definitively moved away from Wexford. I presume the petitioning is on going.

To my knowledge, there is no activity going on in Ferns at present. Would this be the case?

Last Sunday Mass was celebrated O'Feehily (sp?) in the private chapel at Edermine near Enniscorthy. Most of the regulars from Fr Brady's in Wexford seemed to be in attendance. Was a lovely Mass in a beautiful little chapel. I get the impression things are still quite delicate there and they are feeling their way along while trying not to offend anyone especially the owners who generously allowed the Mass to be celebrated. Unclear at present if this will become regular.

That would be Fr Padraig O Fithchell. But this priest, though not an SSPX priest, works closely with the SSPX. I doubt if this comes under the Motu Proprio.

Watch this space for more on Edermine, but take any Masses said by Father O Fithchill to be unofficial. The diocese and parish have to be informed in advance of the celebrant and the Mass.

First of all, Father Pádraig Ó Fithchill is now deceased - I don't know if I posted that already.
Secondly, the east wall of the chapel at Edermine collapsed yesterday rendering it unfit for quite some time. The rose window has been destroyed, and it is irreplaceable.
Ferns is in need of prayers just now.
