Having read Irish Confederate's website with great interest, I decided to make a few maps of what any potential districts would look like, and will now begin to release them to the public on a piecemeal basis. Maps of individual districts can be made on request. Let me know what you think, people here would have a better idea of their own local areas than I would have. I haven't changed county boundaries other than move western Wicklow into Kildare for logistical reasons: Dublin CityDun Laoighre-RathdownSouth DublinFingalWicklowKildare

Here is a map of the regions that I think would function the best. There are 10 regions in the Republic overall, with Leinster having 5 (Dublin, Kildare-Wicklow,Midlands,North-East and South Leinster), Munster 3 (Mid-West, Cork and East Munster) and Connacht/Ulster 2 (West and Border). I had considered dividing Dublin into up to 3 regions, but in the end I thought that the city would be best served by being goverened as a whole at the regional level. That's not to say that sub regions could be implemented as an intermediate level. As for powers, I propose that the regional levels would be responsible for the provision of general hospitals, the promotion of local tourism, provision of further education, regional development, the granting of regional and television broadcasting licences, and probably most importantly, the collection (thought not the setting of rates: that would be for the provinces) of income tax. There may be other responsibilities in addition to this, but these are just examples. If anyone has any suggestions, then please feel free to let me know:
