Dear Moderator I feel some comments on this board are getting out of hand, and I'm dismayed with the friction. I don't feel comfortable contributing here. I few of these threads are very hurtful and pointless.
Sorry for the criticism of your site.

Hello Guest,
Most of us have thick skins on this site. Could you give examples?
Criticise me if you like - I'll survive. But I will appreciate it better from a registered member.

Dear Guest, thanks for your post. I have noticed that some recent comments have been quite lively but I don't want to discourage them. The only things I would ban are obscenity or personal abuse, and even those I would judge one by one. It has taken several months for this board to come alive. I don't know of any other open forum for Catholics in Ireland. I know some posts and threads (including some that I have started) probably seem to have a distinctly Traditionalist tone, but this forum is for everyone. Do please take a more active part, or please feel free to mail me directly if you would like to discuss it further. Michael

The moderator is correct, but I will pick out one issue.
This forum is largely of a traditionalist orientation. It would be better for traditionalists attached to the extraordinary form of Mass to engage with those who aren't. There is little point in arguing on a point in which there is fundamental agreement on.
It is particularly evident in the thread on the Lisbon treaty. The assumption is that everybody is voting 'no'. That is not an assumption that should be automatically made by Catholics (and I am saying this as someone who has been voting 'no' in every EU related referendum since the Single European Act in 1987, long before Maastricht saw a link made between the EU and abortion).

Regarding the orientation of this forum i have only one word : ;D ;D ;D ;D. However NOM people are welcomed tooo !!!! And priests, deacons, bishops ! Atheist, satanist or others, well... They can try to challenge me !!! hehe ! ;D While I agree with you Guillaume...evangelisation isnt successful in this situation seeing that most people arent even aware of this forums existence...even most Catholics....its primary purpose at present is obviously to inform the largely ignorantt laity. As for the idividual who is so sensitive that they cant bear to hear grown men/women argue over whats most important in life...point taken some peoples posts maybe pointless...you cant stop that but thats about it. This particular indiviual apologised for criticising...c'mon!!! What is going on in this persons head?? seriously...we need strong people for these days now...not walkovers..
