We should remember the dead and injured from this tragedy in Berkeley and their families.

Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of David Noel Doyle, retired professor of American history at UCD, who used to write for Doris Manly's BALLINTRILLICK REVIEW in the 1980s. Apparently he died suddenly at his home in Ballinteer on 3 May, but the first I heard of it was when I saw his obituary in the IRISH TIMES yesterday. He was an interesting and outspoken example of someone who was "socially conservative and politically liberal" in American terms, and he made a major contribution to the study of Irish emigration to America in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. I had spoken to him a few months ago and he seemed hale and hearty. HE endured ridicule and hostility for speaking out in defence of the Faith and the Family. May he rest in peace. www.youtube.com/watch?v=P64Yk_PmE_I

Thank you all. My father's condition is about the same and we don't know how things will develop.

At the Rally for Life yesterday there was a minute's silence for John Ferry, the Sligo pro-life activist, who died recently. Your prayers would be appreciated.
