Those of you who attended the Latin Mass in Cobh on 25 March 2008 may like to know that the organisers, St. Colman's Society for Catholic Liturgy, are currently preparing to host a top class liturgical conference to be held in Fota on 12 July 2008. Information concerning speakers etc. can be found here: thenewliturgicalmovement.blogspot.com/2007/12/more-information-on-st-colmans-society.htmlIt would be important to support this conference so as to advance the Society's objectives.

Just in case any of you cannot make the Liturgical Conference in Fota next July, by an amazing coincidence of good providence, you will have an opportunity to make it up in Budapest at the end of August. Those concerned with the restoration of Christianity in Hungary after 50 years of the commies have taken the Pope at his word and are determined to promote his perspective on the Liturgy -just as St. Colman's Society for Catholic Liturgy is doing in Ireland. It appears that the St. Augustine Atelier for Liturgy is located in the great Praemonstratensian Abbey at Godolo, just outside Budapest. Here is the link to it and encourage anyone you can to support it: www.churchmusic.hu/conference2008.htm

But Phil, are you sure all those speakers confirmed? There have been suggestions some have pulled out.

But Phil, are you sure all those speakers confirmed? There have been suggestions some have pulled out. Oh, this is very interesting. Has Alaistdir been part of a sabotage campaign involving several interesting parties from the neo-modernist liturgical establishment? Or, is he merely cluster bombing -as the term is understood by the Irish bishops? If so, I would not want to be sitting in close proximity to this kind of aeolian activity!! Conference is scheduled for 9am, Saturday, 12 July 2008 at Fota Island Sheraton Hotel. I have just received the brochure and it looks like a very full day.

And does it list Mgr James O'Brien of the Congregation of Divine Worship as the organiser?

And does it list Mgr James O'Brien of the Congregation of Divine Worship as the organiser? It just gives the list of speakers, some bio-info about them, a bit on the Fota Island Resort, a short note on St. Colman and a map with directions on how to get to Fota. No doubt, Alaistdir, you will be travelling to hear the speakers. It is available to anyone registered. You can register on line at colman.liturgy@yahoo.co.ukReports, however, have it that there is strong demand for the limited number of places.

You still haven't answered my question.
I think I'll leave it another few weeks before registering as I imagine there will be still plenty of space.
Has the Cardinal re-confirmed that he would come after pulling out?

Has the Cardinal re-confirmed that he would come after pulling out? Another bit of cluster-bombing there ... possibly from oversubscribing the onions when making the toad-in-the-hole. Do not let registration to the last moment! If you are not in, you cannot win!!

Alaistdir, do try this little number, if you haven't already. It's a great relief for the cluster-bombing and will ensure that you get a good night's sleep. You deserve it and you will really feel better tomorrow, if not right as rain.
Whiskey Fog recipe
2 cups chilled whipping cream 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 2 tablespoon Irish or Scotch whiskey 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 3/4 cup coarsely crushed crisp macaroons
Beat whipping cream, sugar, whiskey and vanilla extract in chilled bowl until stiff. Fold in macaroons. Spoon into dessert dishes. Sprinkle with additional crushed macaroons if desired.
Yields 8 servings.

Also (I may be wrong) but the Lassus Scholars are singing at a mass that weekend in Cobh Cathedral that I think will be associated with this conference. In Nomine Christi CPM

I don't think the Cathedral choir in St Colman's would be too happy about that.
