Although there are some people here who may think that the catholic church and ist teachings are perfect in every way I have found here a willingness among most to openly criticise their own church. I wonder therefore if anyone here has raised some concerns with their own parish priests and other clergy or do they just talk about it on places like this forum?
One example of what I am talking about is Catholic Abbot Christopher Jamison of West Sussex attacking of Disney this weekend.
Now I can hardly point out that this is very similar to the church itself! More and more the bible has been recognized as not being literal but being stories of imagery and imagination to highlight moral ends. I also do not need to point out how the Catholic Church and the Vatican get paid handsomely for these ends. So where is the difference?

It is hardly for the Church to accuse anyone of corrupting Children. Especially not after this document here:
www.guardian.co.uk/world/2003/aug/17/religion.childprotection/print
Which showed that the Vatican told bishops to cover up sex abuse.
Now I am at pains to think how any catholic on this board can condone this and I wonder is it too much to ask that honest church goers talk to their parish clergy and raise with them the issue of how worrying this is? Surely this is not the action of a church you wish to be a part of. It is not only for the Atheist to stand up and be counted in this?

While he acknowledges that Disney stories carry messages showing good triumphing over evil, he argues this is part of a ploy to persuade people that they should buy Disney products in order to be "a good and happy family".

The 69-page Latin document bearing the seal of Pope John XXIII was sent to every bishop in the world. The instructions outline a policy of 'strictest' secrecy in dealing with allegations of sexual abuse and threatens those who speak out with excommunication.
