The facts are simple:
1. Two members have been deleted along with all their contributory posts and threads. 2. Neither was given any warnings about the content or tone of their posts, despite the fact that the home page declares this as due process. 3. Neither member has been accused of breaking any forum rules. 4. Neither member has been contacted by the moderator with an explanation. 5. The moderator has not explained his actions to the membership of this forum.
So, under which circumstances is such behaviour acceptable on Irish Catholics?

The moderator is not REQUIRED to give reason, warning or explanation, but I think it would be gracious of him to do so.

Yes SaintStephen, you are correct, the moderator has no obligation to conform to any rules set by the users, only by himself. He has the _right_ to act like he wants with the forum.
This is the same as you having the _right_ not to be able to use the quote function correctly or to practise common courtesy.
The question here is how the moderator SHOULD act, not how he MUST act. He, like you, has ever right to be discourteous and rude as he, like you, see fit. Clearly you practise your right to be rude with wild abandon. The moderator may also be doing this.

Inedifix II,
Perhaps you (or the moderator) could explain the circumstances of these deletions. If the members did not break the rules, maybe it would give the rest of us a little insight into just what the moderator expects but does not make explicitly clear. As a new member, I'm a little wary of posting without knowing exactly what is acceptable.
Also, in many forums, posts and threads of banned or suspended members are left up for discussion. It is taken that the posts speak for themselves, and stand as an example of how not to engage in discussion. Personally, I find that sort of system fairer, but hey, when in Rome...

Hi dante, Yep, I wish the posts and threads were all still there for you to see. Alas, they've all been deleted. To cut a long story short, the moderator felt that too much traffic was taken up with debates between myself, another atheist poster and two rather extreme characters on this site, who supported a rather un-Catholic, not to mention illogical belief in Young Earth Creationism and Geocentrism. I guess the mod wanted the flame wars to end, but instead of moderating, he banned the heathens and left the fundamentalists ( one of whom, Saint Stephen, is now resorting to blatant lies and fabrications). Yes the flame wars should end and we both should become brothers in Christ. You and I would enjoy countless memories of joy in Eternity. Such audacity, to lie to everyone on this site with one breath, and invoke Christ with the next. Dear Saint Stephen, I wonder, when you next go to confession, Will you admit to lying to your fellow Catholics? And will you comply, if you are told to desist from these lies? Or will you return and carry on lying to your fellow Catholics? Or will you convince yourself that it's okay to lie about atheists? And thereby avoid having to confess in the first place, about the lies you are telling to your fellow Catholics? I P.S. As for ending the war... no problem. You admit to your lies and ask for forgiveness, and I'll see what I can do.

Once again, There are no rules on this forum.
The rules are dedicated by the "proboard" team, themselves dedicated by the php people.
CPM must lecture us on the proper rules of this forum. Because it is going to nowhere.
