I love the heathen tag on the url. It makes me feel right at home.

Hi Michael.
I hope some of the catholic members here contribute to this thread.
The dialogue should be interesting.

Good idea Michael. Are you going to move the general threads, where atheist and catholic are currently in discussion to here. Or will atheists be stopped/deleted from threads they are currently contributing to?

I I may look like a moderator on your screen but my only function now is to provide technical support (and all you IT people please don't post to say how useless I am at that), so I am keeping some functions for the moment with CPM's approval. CPM controls this forum now so what happens is up to him.

This is a good idea; after all this forum was originally set up for Catholics to discuss internal Church matters. This will allow the atheists to get a fair hearing and let us dialogue with them without having the whole board taken up by our arguments.

So history repeats itself and there is a new segregation. Will the actions continue to come full circle and everyone who posts in this new section get deleted after a short time? So let me get it, we now have a GENERAL forum which is not general but very specific, and we have this new general general forum. Anyone can say anything we disagree with in the general forum and we are admonished not to answer them because based on our beliefs we do not qualify for access to that forum. However they happily have free reign in this forum. Well..... thats fair...... not...... Maybe it is just the naming of the thread that is the problem, I do not know. You should spend some time on www.christianteenforums.comand see how they do things. They are full of atheists and muslims and all sorts over there, yet they seem to have no problems like you have here.

^^ I'm with Hazel. Segregation is a really poor way to proceed, and only encourages seperatism.
Poor show. I will, of course, abide by the rules, but I have to say that I find it incredibly distasteful.

It is pretty telling, the attitude of the owners here, when they name the link for this board "board=heathen".

This board was set up specifically for Catholics by Catholics, just as the atheist boards were set up by atheists for atheists. It's the host who sets the rules. Complaining about "segregation" in this context amounts to complaining about having a Catholic board at all; it's not a public facility but a private one set up by people wishing to discuss shared interests.

Your statement may be true to some degree of the catholic forum, however the atheist forum is open to everyone and actually has some catholic posters who contribute from time to time. I actually am ok with the segregation as long as catholic posters contribute to this section of the forum. If it ends up being just an atheist section it would stifle debate.
