You don't believe in meditating on the Word of God? That's off topic. If you want to ask the question start a thread about meditation or meditating on the "word" of whichever god you choose. Sorry, what's off topic? Are you addressing me?

Look at the post above of yours. If your name is above the quote then you're the person being addressed. There are only two names involved so I'd hardly be talking to myself.

I started this thread and it's about Lectio Divina which is about meditation on the word of God. I wasn't talking about eastern style meditation.

Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ! I'm just getting started with Lectio and I'd like to hear from others who practice this form of mental prayer.Noel. I'll go through it line by line: 1:The OP above is asking a specific question to specific people ie: those who pracitce whatever it was. 2. I found some information on it by chance and I posted it. I did'nt join in because the OP is not inviting posts about the value of mediatation rather.... (refer to 1 above) 3. But since I posted it Michael asked a question. 4. To clarify I pointed out I did not believe in any type of meditation. 5. Then you went off topic. 6. Then you went off topic again. 7. You're proably going to go off topic with the next one as well so instead start a thread as suggested in one of the posts above. (You might want to meditate on it before you do)

Did you think I actually meant mediation? Do you not think meditation is a major part of Lectio Divina?

Do you not think meditation is a major part of Lectio Divina? I know you wrote the OP, I've just quoted you as having wrote the OP. I know you meant meditation not mediation: I didn't think for a minute that Lectio Divina was something to do with the Labor Court. I don't know anything about LD. I do know that the OP was aimed at discussing it's merits with those who have practiced it. Since I'm not one of those I think it would be bad manners, to say the least, to hijack the thread answering questions that were not asked in the first place. I posted the info only because it would be of interest to people who were into LD.

You wrote "I don't actually believe in meditation but thats not what the OP asked. " and I questioned you about this. My point is that this thread is about LD and meditation!!! In my OP I wrote "Any tips on medi[t]ation?". So why can't I discuss meditation is my own thread?? Are you a mod?

What the heck are you going on about? Same question to number one Cilla! You wrote "I don't actually believe in meditation but thats not what the OP asked. " and I questioned you about this. No...I posted some information and the Moderator (blessed be his name, may peace be upon him) posted a jibe and I responded to Him the Moderator (blessed be his name, may peace be upon him). In that context what I said was not a reply to the OP but to the Moderator (blessed be his name, may peace be upon him) My point is that this thread is about LD and meditation!!! In my OP I wrote "Any tips on medi[t]ation?". So why can't I discuss meditation is my own thread?? Are you a mod? No this thread according to the OP, (whom I suspect you know personally ha ha) was asking people what they thought of Lector Divinia. Your remarks about "your thread" sound like "it's my party and I'll cry if I want to". There are no rules but there is an nominally agreed decorum. For example when a thread is posted the...........have a go at finishing that off without going OFF TOPIC!
